Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Program
The ACCA certification provides a structured route for people interested in a career in accounting and finance. Candidates learn from fundamental knowledge to advanced skills during a three to four-year period.
The first level, Applied Knowledge, requires applicants to demonstrate a good knowledge of key accounting concepts via tests in Business and Technology, Management Accounting, and Financial Accounting. This level normally takes six to twelve months to accomplish.
Candidates progress to the second level, Applied Skills, where they gain further knowledge and practical skills in areas such as taxes, financial reporting, and audit and assurance. Candidates who complete this level, which typically takes 12-18 months, are better prepared for the complexity of professional practice.
Finally, the strategy Professional level focuses on improving strategy and leadership skills via tests in Strategic Business Leader, Strategic Business Reporting, and optional courses including Advanced Financial Management and Advanced Performance Management. This advanced stage normally takes between 12 and 24 months to complete. Candidates who successfully complete the ACCA certification emerge as well-rounded professionals capable of excelling in a variety of professions within the global financial sector.
