We are British Council approved test preparation and registration center for IELTS (English Language Testing System). Our highly competent and experienced instructors prepare our students not only pass the ILETS exam but also achieve high band scores in all four components of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

IELTS Academic & GT Module

The International English Language Testing System or IELTS is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers.

There are two modules of the IELTS tests: Academic and General Training modules. The Academic module is suitable for candidates who plan to pursue their higher education in institutions where English is the medium of instruction or advance in their professional careers. The General module is designed for candidates who plan to apply for training programs or migrate to a country where English is the language of communication – the UK, Canada and Australia.

Who should enroll?

Academic IELTS is for candidates taking the test for entry to Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies or for professional reasons. General Training Module is for entry to vocational programs or immigration purposes.

What is the role of the teacher?

The teachers are highly experienced IELTS trainers who oversee the progress of their students. They assist students identify weak language areas and help them improve their performance in those areas. The trainers guide students to understand key concepts, offer plenty of practice exercises and provide extensive feedback on their work. Students are also required to take mock IELTS exams at regular intervals to assess their progress.

What does the course offer?

The course aids participants to augment their performance in both oral and literacy assessments.

What is the role of the teacher?

The course is designed for 24-30 hours but students may sign up for additional hours if they feel the need for more practice. Registered students have the liberty to attend morning or evening classes on weekdays and on Saturday. Each lesson lasts for two hours.

Modules

Participants learn how to predict and paraphrase information and become familiar with different types of listening tasks and questions in the IELTS exam. They develop their note-taking and summary-writing skills as well as understand the difference between stated and implied ideas in listening prompts. Participants practice how to follow and understand short conversations, descriptions of diagrams, maps and plans and more extend lectures for different parts of the Listening test.

Participants are offered adequate practice in all three parts of the Speaking test to build their confidence. They practice their speaking skills by describing themselves, their families, hobbies, etc. in an interview format, discussing a topic of general interest, responding to follow-up questions and expressing their views on a given topic at length.

In view of time constraint, participants learn and practice the key reading strategies of skimming and scanning reading passages to understand main ideas and extract specific information from the texts. They also learn how to guess the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary from context and identify the purpose of a given text.

Participants learn how to describe, analyze and interpret visual information such as charts, tables, graphs and diagrams for Task 1 of the Academic module and how to plan and write a letter using a prompt for Task 1 of the General module. They also learn how to plan and write an essay for Task 2 of the General and Academic modules. They learn how to approach the writing task, how to effectively communicate their message and how to develop their arguments.
